The active ingredient of Generic Aricept is Donepezil hydrochloride. It is chemically denoted as (±)-2, 3-dihydro-5, 6-dimethoxy-2-[[1-(phenylmethyl)-4-piperidinyl] methyl]-1H-inden-1-one hydrochloride. The chemical formula of the ingredient is C24H29NO3HCl and its molecular mass is 415.96. The tablets come in three strengths 5 mg, 10 mg and 23 mg. The inactive ingredients of the 5 mg and 10 mg tablets are milk sugar monohydrate, cornstarch, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, and octadecanoic acid. The film coating contains talc, polyethylene glycol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and titanium dioxide.
