The active ingredient in Generic Flonase is Fluticasone Propionate having the chemical name: S-(fluoromethyl) 6α, 9-difluoro-11β-17-dihydroxy-16α-methyl-3-oxoandrosta-1, 4-diene-17β-carbothioate, 17-propionate. The formula of this chemical which has a molecular mass of 500.6 is C25H31F3O5S. Fluticasone being a glucocorticoid has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the signs and symptom of allergic reactions efficiently. However, the exact action mechanism is not clear.
Gently shake the Flonase spray-can before using
The recommended dosage is two sprays in each nostrils once daily for several days
If using for the first time, or after a week or more, prime it
To prime it push and release the pump 6 times till a fine spray is visible
Completely clear your nostrils by blowing
Keeping one nose closed with your finger, tip your face forward and place the applicator carefully on your other nose. Make sure to keep the bottle erect.
Now when you are breathing in, press the spray applicator to release the spray and breathe out from your mouth.

If you skip the dose, take it as soon as your remember or ask your medical advisor; but stay away from overdose
