The active ingredient, Naproxen, is chemically known as (+)-(S)-2-(6-methoxynaphthalen-2-yl) propanoic acid. The chemical formula of the ingredient is C14H14O3 and the molecular weight is 230.259. The inactive ingredients of the tablets are croscarmellose sodium, polyvinylpyrrolidone, iron oxides and octadecanoic acid. The inactive ingredients of the delayed-release tablets are croscarmellose sodium, polyvinylpyrrolidone and octadecanoic acid, sodium hydroxide, talc, methacrylic acid copolymer, purified water and triethyl citrate.
After oral administration of Generic Naprosyn, the drug Naproxen is readily absorbed by the body to inhibit the enzymes COX1 (cyclooxygenase) and COX2.
